What is Roadrunner Email/TWC Email?

roadrunner email login
The new Roadrunner Email/TWC Mail login page, as it looks now.

Road Runner High-Speed Online was the name given to an internet service, launched in 1995, which was offered by Time Warner Cable. It took its name from the Warner Bros. cartoons featuring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, was especially popular in the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2000s and included the Roadrunner Email service.

In 2012, the Roadrunner brand name was replaced by the Time Warner Cable (TWC) name, with Roadrunner email becoming TWC Email. Then, in 2016, TWC was acquired by Charter Communications and re-branded again, to Spectrum Internet.

This then brought together the Roadrunner, TWC and Charter email brands under the Spectrum name.

How Can I Register for a Roadrunner Email Account?

First, when signing up for an email account, it is important to know that the old webmail.runner.com and www.RR.com login pages no longer work. You may see a page re-directing you to the new address, or the page may simply fail to load. Instead, you should now go to: https://www.spectrum.net/login/

A Roadrunner or Spectrum email account is only available to Spectrum customers and you need to have already created a username and password for your Spectrum account. If you have not already done so, you can find more information about this process by visiting: https://www.spectrum.net/support/manage-account/creating-charter-username/

Assuming you have a valid username and password, visit the aforementioned https://www.spectrum.net/login/ page and sign in to your account. Using the menu, which is accessible from the top left of the screen, go to ‘Manage Account’, then ‘Services’ and select the ‘Internet’ option. From there, click on ‘Create Email Address’ and then ‘Create Mailbox’.

You may need to re-enter the password associated with your account to confirm the creation of your new mailbox. The email address itself will follow the following naming convention: [your username]@charter.net

How Do I Login to my My Roadrunner/TWC Email Inbox?

Some of the URLs that have previously been used to gain access to Roadrunner, Time Warner Cable and Charter email accounts, including www.RR.com, mail.TWC.com, webmail.roadrunner.com and myservices.brighthouse.com/login/ will no longer work. These should re-direct to the correct login page at https://www.spectrum.net/login/ or https://webmail.spectrum.net/mail/auth/.

However, this may not always happen, especially if you to not include the “https://” prefix. For this reason, you should update your bookmarks to the main login URL: https://www.spectrum.net/login/.

From that page, to sign into your account, all you need to do is enter your username and password, and then click the ‘Sign In’ button underneath the login form. At times, it may also be necessary to complete a Captcha challenge, or tick a box, in order to prove that you are a genuine human user and not a bot.

The Roadrunner Email login page as it used to look. Nowadays, head over to https://webmail.spectrum.net/mail/auth to sign in to your Roadrunner Email account or TWC Mail account.

What Can I Do If I Have Forgotten My Roadrunner/TWC Email Password?

If you have forgotten the password you use for Roadrunner email login purposes, you can complete a password reset through the service. This can be accessed from the main login page, by clicking on the link labelled ‘Forgot Username or Password?’, which is found underneath the main login form. Alternatively, visit: https://www.spectrum.net/forgot/

In order to recover your password, you will need to provide information to confirm your identity. This could, for example, include your username and your ZIP code, or your account number and security code. There are multiple options available to choose from. Once you have entered the information, click ‘Next’ and follow the instructions.

Once you regain access to your account, select a new, memorable password for future use.

What Should I Do If I Encounter Roadrunner Email Login Problems?

If you run into difficulties when attempting to log in to your Roadrunner email account, double check that your internet connection is working. A simple way to do this is to refresh the page, or try visiting another website. Assuming you have no problems with your connection, you may then need to run through some basic checks.

First, make sure you are using the right login page. The correct URL is: https://www.spectrum.net/login/ and the old mail.twc.com, webmail.runner.com and RR.com login pages do not work. If you have previously bookmarked one of those pages, update your bookmark to use the current login page instead.

Next, you need to check that you have entered your login credentials properly. Some problems can be difficult to spot, such as using a ‘zero’ instead of an ‘o’, so check carefully. If you usually copy and paste your login credentials from a saved document, make sure you have not accidentally copied a SPACE at the beginning or end.

Your password is case sensitive, so you will need to be careful with the placement of upper and lower case letters. Make sure you are not accidentally capitalising letters that should not be capitalised and turn CAPS LOCK off.

You can check that the Spectrum Email server is actually up and running by visiting:

http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/spectrum.net.html

Assuming you have worked through all of these steps, it may also be worth attempting to sign in via a different web browser, or with a different device, such as a mobile phone, laptop, desktop or tablet. If this is not possible, try using an ‘Incognito’ tab on your web browser, or try clearing your cache and cookies before trying again.

Finally, if you are still experiencing problems, you may need to disable browser plug-ins or add-ons, or temporarily disable your anti-virus, anti-malware or ad-blocking applications. Some of these applications can interfere with the login process or prevent the CAPCHA check from appearing.

  1. Thank you very much for the help. I was unable to access my account, but figured it out now. Turns out I needed to update my browser to the latest version.

      1. I’m going to call Spectrum. I’ve had problems for approximately 1week. And I’m sick & tired.

        Respestlly,
        Debra Edwards

    1. This is ridiculous! You are the computer geniuses and this is the best you come up with? Does anyone consider your customers at all anymore. Find someone who can manage these problems instead of sending them to non-computer-experts! I don’t care if you share my email address…I certainly cannot access any! I don’t mean to put these items on you but you are the only person I can imagine contacting! Roadrunner was NEVER a problem until Spectrum came into play. Sorry for the rant but at Christmas time, when sooooo many people use the internet to shop is probably the worst time of the year to make changes. I will give you my email info and hope I am lucky enough to get your reply.

  2. Want to know how you can help me?
